Of all the Chilean artists of the 20th century the one that has become the most popular and stands out from everyone else is Roberto Matta. Matta created unique designs which set him apart from everyone else worldwide. Known as an abstract expressionist and surrealistic artist he worked in many mediums. Here is an example of one that was created using crayon, graphite and pencil on paper. Decorated with abstract marching figures holding flags. This multi-color abstract still remains in its original wood frame. The image is approximately 25 1/2" wide x 16" high.
