These Enameled Opera Glasses - Binoculars were custom designed by the Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist, Alphonse Mucha. Known for being the first major artist in the Art Nouveau movement, this one-of-a-kind piece is a true work of art. By the 1900s, opera glasses rose to popularity and were a must-have fashion accessory for affluent theater-lovers. A great deal of care and precision has gone into these intricately decorated and carefully encrusted glasses. Due to the delicateness of the enamel, each color was kiln-fired at a different temperature. The nature of this intricate process plays an important role in the long-lasting vibrancy of this incredibly rare piece clad with beautiful women. With Extendable - Telescoping Lorgnette Handle.
